This page explains how to delete your ParikshaPatra account, exactly what gets deleted, what we are legally required to keep, and how long it takes. You can delete your account yourself from inside the app, or ask us to do it by email.
ParikshaPatra is operated from India. Contact: info@parikshapatra.in
Two things people most often wish they had known:
| You want to | Do this |
|---|---|
| Remove your account and personal data entirely | Section 3 (in the app) or Section 4 (by email) |
| Stop marketing emails or push notifications only | Section 8 |
| Correct your name, mobile number, state or exam preference | Section 8 |
| Get a copy of your data before deleting | Section 8 |
This is the fastest route and it takes effect straight away.
Open the ParikshaPatra app and sign in.
Tap Profile in the bottom navigation bar.
Scroll down to Account & Policies and tap it to expand the section.
Tap Delete Account.
Read the confirmation dialog, then tap Delete Account again to confirm.
Your account is deactivated immediately and you are signed out on every device. Deletion of your data then proceeds as described in Section 5.
If you have lost access to your account — forgotten password, lost the registered mobile number, or the app will not open — you do not need to sign in to have your account deleted.

We acknowledge requests within 24 hours on business days (Mon–Fri 9:00 AM–6:00 PM IST, Sat 10:00 AM–2:00 PM IST; closed Sunday and public holidays) and complete verified deletions within the timeline in Section 5.
We erase the following from our production systems:
In practice most of this is removed as soon as the request is processed; the 30-day window is the outer limit and covers replicated systems.
Encrypted backups are on a rolling cycle and are overwritten in the ordinary course. Your data is gone from backups once that cycle completes. We do not restore deleted accounts from backups, and backup copies are not used for any purpose other than disaster recovery in the interim.
We are honest about this rather than claiming we erase everything, because we cannot lawfully erase everything.
| What we retain | For how long | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Payment and transaction records — invoice number, Razorpay or Apple transaction ID, amount, date, plan purchased, and the name and email as they appeared on the invoice | 8 years from the end of the relevant financial year | Indian tax, GST and accounting law requires businesses to preserve books of account and invoices. Section 36 of the CGST Act, 2017 and the Income-tax Act require this. We are not permitted to delete an invoice on request. |
| Records relating to an open dispute, chargeback, grievance or legal claim | Until the matter is finally resolved, then deleted on the schedule above | We need them to resolve the matter and to defend or establish a legal claim. |
| Aggregated, anonymised statistics — for example the average score on a paper, or how many users attempted it | Indefinitely | These carry no identifier and cannot be linked back to you, so they are no longer personal data. They are not used to reconstruct your account. |
| Security and abuse records — a hash of an identifier where an account was terminated for fraud, payment abuse or a serious breach of our Terms | Up to 3 years | To prevent the same abuse being repeated. Applies only where there was such a breach. |
Retained payment records are held in a restricted, minimal form. They are not used to send you anything, to serve you content, to market to you, or to rebuild your account. They exist so that we can produce a lawful record if a tax authority or auditor asks for one.
This retention is the same in substance whether you delete your account in the app or by email — the route does not change what the law requires us to keep.
Some records sit with our partners under their own retention rules, and deleting your ParikshaPatra account does not by itself clear them:
If you want these cleared as well, you will need to ask each provider directly. We will point you in the right direction if you email us.
You may not need to go this far.
Stop marketing emails. Use the unsubscribe link in any promotional email, or write to info@parikshapatra.in. You will still get essential messages about your account and purchases.
Stop push notifications. Turn them off in your device settings for ParikshaPatra — Android: Settings > Apps > ParikshaPatra > Notifications; iOS: Settings > Notifications > ParikshaPatra.
Correct or update your details. Edit your name, mobile number, state and exam preference in the app under Profile. If a field cannot be edited there, email us and we will correct it.
Change your exam. All plans, including Free, include changing your selected exam. Do it in the app rather than starting a new account.
Take a break without deleting. Just sign out and stop using the app. We do not charge you for having an account, and the Free Plan costs nothing. Your progress stays where it is if you come back.
Get a copy of your data first. Email info@parikshapatra.in with the subject line "Data Access Request" from your registered email address, and we will send you a machine-readable copy of your account data within 30 days. Do this before deleting, because we cannot produce it afterwards.
Delete just your test history. We can clear your test attempts, scores and analytics while keeping your account and any active plan. Email us with the subject line "Delete My Test History" and say so. This is also irreversible, and it will empty your analytics.
If you deleted your account by mistake and it was very recent, email info@parikshapatra.in immediately. We will tell you honestly whether anything can still be stopped. Often it cannot, so please treat the confirmation dialog as final.
